The Vital Aging & Adult Services program is a nationally award-winning recognized best practices program that improves the lives of older adults and those who care for them. Valley provides both in-person and virtual wellness classes at senior centers and senior housing complexes across the Wasatch Front for adults aged 60 and above.
As part of our Masters Program and in a collaboration between Valley Behavioral Health and Salt Lake County, this nationally award winning project provides mental health treatment, companionship, and activities for seniors across the Salt Lake Valley.
With a rapidly growing senior population, the need for wellness programs has become increasingly apparent. The Vital Aging Project helps improves the lives of older adults and those who care for them. Valley provides wellness classes at senior centers across the Wasatch Front, including such topics as:
– Achieving a Healthy Mind, Body, and Soul – Building Resilience – Pathways to Cope with Grief and Loss – Reduce Symptoms of Anxiety and Depression – Mindfulness and Relaxation Techniques
Everyone ages 60 years old and above are welcome! Monthly services are offered at the following locations:

What is PEARLS? PEARLS was created to help educate older adults about what depression is and what it is not and helps them develop the skills they need for self-sufficiency and more active lives.
How long does PEARLS take place? The program takes place in six to eight sessions over the course of four to five months in a community-based setting that is more accessible and comfortable for older adults who do not see other mental health programs as a good fit for them. The first 4 will be free of charge.
*Older adults do NOT need to be diagnosed with depression in order to participate in PEARLS.
